Louay Owaidat - President

Louay Owaidat

Louay Owaidat

Mr. Owaidat has more than twenty years of experience managing over $400 million worth of specialty environmental and civil construction projects. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla and Washington University. He is a Board Director of the Construction Institute-American Society of Civil Engineers, and has authored or co-authored ten technical papers on levees, soil improvement and slurry wall construction. Mr. Owaidat has successfully overseen the construction of more than 12 million square feet of slurry walls, including the largest soil-cement-bentonite cutoff wall in the United States.

Bruce Diettert - Chief Financial Officer

Bruce Diettert

Mr. Diettert is a CPA with over 28 years experience in Public Accounting and Private Industry. He began his career in 1984 with a Local CPA firm in Spokane Washington providing individual, partnership and corporate tax preparation and planning including estate planning. He spent 4 years with Ernst & Young in Denver Colorado as an Audit Manager where he worked primarily with privately held corporations providing audit and tax services. He also provided management consulting services assisting clients in implementing computerized accounting systems.

Mr. Diettert moved to private industry in 1992 as the Chief Financial Officer for a nationwide long-haul flatbed trucking company operating in 48 contiguous states and Canada. He was heavily involved in financial reporting, human resources and operations. In 1998 he became the Director of Revenue Accounting for a short line railroad which operates over 1000 miles of main line and branch line track. He was responsible for all freight billing with Class I railroads and on-line customers. He was also responsible for car hire settlements and demurrage related to the operation of the railroad. He was responsible for the design, development and implementation of an automated revenue accounting system utilizing freight car movement data provided by the Class I railroads and integrated with the Company’s main accounting system.

In 2002, Mr. Diettert became the District Accounting Manager for a sister company to the railroad which provided Geo-technical, hazardous remediation, demolition and other construction services to public and private sector clients throughout the United States. He was responsible for all aspects of project financial reporting, forecasting and internal controls. He worked closely with the Project Managers and Directors and the District Manager to ensure the integrity of financial reporting.

Mr. Diettert joined Magnus Pacific Corporation in 2009 as the Chief Financial officer and is responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and financial information systems, maintaining relationships with financial institutions, managing working capital, budgeting, strategic planning, internal controls and State and Federal reporting requirements and compliance.

Jasen Yardley - Corporate Safety Manager

Jasen Yardley

Mr. Yardley has extensive safety experience in the Civil and Environmental Construction fields. He holds Certificates in Risk Management (DNV), Asbestos, Air Monitoring, and is a Certified OSHA Trainer. Mr. Yardley comes to Magnus Pacific having developed, implemented, trained, and monitored safety programs for several large companies. He conducts similar duties for Magnus Pacific overseeing our field projects. His work history provides a valuable combination of safety, insurance, and risk management.

Matt Marks - Project Director

Matt Marks

Mr. Marks holds a B. S. in Earth Sciences with a focus in Hydrogeology from Pennsylvania State University. He has twelve years of experience managing hazardous waste remediation utilizing slurry cutoff walls and soil stabilization. His diverse field experience includes a mine reclamation project for the EPA, remediation and closure of a major chemical manufacturing facility, in-situ stabilization at a former MGP site, sediment removal and wetland mitigation in the San Francisco Bay Area, and a reactive barrier at Cape Canaveral Air Station.

Jeremy McKnight - Project Director

Jeremy McKnight

Mr. McKnight holds a B. S. degree in Engineering Management from the U. S. Military Academy at West Point. He has seven years of experience managing the construction of slurry walls and other flood control structures. Mr. McKnight’s experience includes managing slurry wall construction for the largest set-back levee in Northern California, in-water landfill excavation for the Napa River flood protection project, and construction of dredge cells at a former Army airfield for wetland mitigation.

Sean Rhodes - Project Director

Mr. Rhodes has over ten years of experience directing the construction of slurry walls, biopolymer drains, and flood control related structures. His experience includes unique and challenging projects such as the largest soil-cement-bentonite cutoff wall constructed in the United States, a stream restoration project for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, a cement-bentonite seepage barrier for flood control, and a levee removal and re-construction for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Mr. Councilman has over ten years of experience in environmental and civil construction of slurry walls, biopolymer drains and soil mixing. He began his career with the U. S. Army and worked through the ranks as Mechanic, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Superintendent and Construction Manager. Mr. Councilman’s experience includes working on the largest soil-cement-bentonite cutoff wall constructed in the United States, isolation trenches at the Oak Ridge DOE Facility and in-situ stabilization at a former wood processing facility.

Tom Gayer - Construction Manager

Tom Gayer

Mr. Gayer has managed the construction of more than 12 million square feet of slurry walls and biopolymer drains during his 35 year career. He is certified by the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation as a slurry trench specialist. Mr. Gayer has also received several prestigious achievement awards for successfully completing highly challenging projects such as the Rio Salado Town Lake in Tempe, Arizona, New Waddell Dam, American River Levee and DOE’s Oak Ridge Facility.

James Beebe - Construction Manager

Mr. Beebe has over twenty years of experience managing the construction of more than five million square feet of slurry cutoff walls. He began his career by operating long reach excavators and worked his way up to Foreman, Superintendent and Construction Manager. Mr. Beebe has participated in several complex high profile projects including expansion of the Napa River Flood Zone, strengthening of the New Waddell Dam and the American River Levee project that included the largest soil-cement-bentonite cutoff wall constructed in the United States.

Neal Siller - Construction Manager

Neal Siller

Mr. Siller has over ten years of experience in the specialty and heavy civil construction industries. His extensive practical construction experience is the result of growing up in a family-owned construction business where he learned heavy equipment operation and construction management. He has successfully managed several heavy civil construction projects for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, including one that was recognized as “Project of the Year for Civil Works Construction”.

Trevor Smith - Project Manager

Trevor Smith

Mr. Smith holds a A.A.S degree in Marine Technology from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC. He has more than 12 years of experience in marine and geotechnical construction. As Project Engineer for a dredging contractor, he provided oversight for major expansions of New York and Boston Harbors. His marine construction experience provided for a seamless transition to geotechnical construction where he continues to solve construction challenges for environmental remediation, slurry wall, structural concrete, groundwater control, wetland restoration, and land reclamation projects.
